This book picks up where book one left off. Bella and Edward are still close. Bella thought they would never part ways. Suddenly Edward and his whole family moves and Bella is left all alone.
Then she got a new friend -Jacob. They weren’t as close as Bella and Edward was. Bella and Jacob rode motorcycles together(Bella got hurt)and did other crazy things like cliff diving with other friends. The both of them appeared to be getting closer,but then Laurent appeared.
He was a member of a group of vampires- the rational one of the group. The others weren’t able to stay under control and one of them met their fate in the hands of Eduard.
At first, Laurent seemed like he could be trusted, but then he reminded her about Victoria. She was mad that Edward killed her mate and she wanted to kill Bella to get even.Laurent was also thirsty-which ment Bella was in a lot of trouble!
Thank goodness for the pack of wolves and the guidance of a certain voice in her head. She never would have made it out of there alive. Now that it was known that Victoria was after Bella, the wolves went off in search of her.Then they had to protect Bella as well.
Alice then reappears and tells Bella that Edward thinks she’s dead. He went to Italy and the Volturi. It was assumed that he was going to get hurt if he wasn’t stopped.Fortunately, the ladies were able to get through to him and saved the day!
Then they decided the wanted Bella, and somehow they got away from them. Reunited, Edward and Bella talked about becoming a vampire like Edward.Bella thought it would help keep her safe. All the others agreed, but no one wanted to rush in to things.
Jacob was gone for a little while because he found out that Bella was hanging out with her old vampire friends again. Just when we thought we weren’t going to see him again,he pops out of nowhere and starts causing trouble. He reminded Edward about the treaty they had that states if either kind bit another human, the truce would be off.
In the end, Bella chooses Edward after a heated discussion between her and Jacob about what he promised about their friendship.(if things didn’t work out) He decided to keep his promise and let her go.
